SALES MANAGEMENT BOOKS

So many Sales Managers that I work with have extraordinary demands placed on their time.  Sales Management training courses may not fit easily into a Sales Managers' busy schedule.  Half an hour of reading Sales Management books a few days a week is not as challenging to a sales Manager's schedule.

Why Sales Management Books?

There are several common traits of the more successful Sales Managers I deal with, but one that I see repeatedly is that they read books.  We recommend books to each other, or share ideas from the latest books that we've read.

In discussions with several of these managers, they have all identified reading books as an extremely time-effective way of enhancing their knowledge and ability in Sales Management.

As a General Manager friend of mine said to me recently, "the answer to every question ever asked is already out there somewhere, just take the time to find the answers."

Reading just one book a month for a year will not only give you a competitive advantage, but will contribute to the improvement of your sales and management skills, enhance your range of available concepts and contribute to improved thinking.

Our market continues to get more and more competitive.  Increasing your knowledge is not only a matter of strategic improvement, but may also be a factor in business survival.
Several Sales Managers have explained to me that they don't have time to read to progress their careers, yet they will watch television for 2-3 hours a night.  If  I ask what they've watched on television in the last month that has improved their careers, they have to admit 'nothing.'

So what am I suggesting? Simply to make reading as easy as possible for yourself.  Make sales management books readily available for yourself. Buy a few sales management books and keep them in easy access at home.  If you haven't read for a while, don't force yourself to read a certain amount.  Start by just reading a few pages, or until you get ONE good idea that you can think about implementing.

To provide you a starting point or continuing point for your management reading, I've created a list of some recommended books below. Strategic reading is a simple, proven way to help you to increase your income. As reading becomes a success habit, you are more likely to acquire knowledge, thoughts and skills that will help develop your career and your income.  The more you learn, the more you earn.
